A training plan is a reusable block of weeks you keep in your Library and assign to any athlete on any start date. You can build one from scratch on the Plans tab, or turn weeks you've already scheduled on an athlete's calendar into a plan with one click, so the work you did for one athlete becomes a template for the next.
This guide walks you through both ways of creating a training plan, and how to edit, duplicate, or delete one afterward.
Build a Plan from Scratch
Step 1: Open the Plan Builder
Go to Library and click the Plans tab. In the top right, click "+ Create new" and choose Training plan. The Creating new plan modal opens.
Step 2: Name the Plan
On the left, type a Plan title (required). Use Private notes about plan for anything you want to remember about the block; athletes never see these notes. On the right you'll see Week 1 laid out as Day 1 to Day 7.
Step 3: Add Workouts, Rest Days, and Notes to Each Day
Click the + on a day. A menu offers Add workout (hover to pick the sport: Running, Cycling, Swimming, or Strength), Add rest for a rest day, and Add note for guidance the athlete will see on that day.
For a workout, the picker opens with the same two tabs as the Calendar builder: "From library" to pick a saved workout (search, or filter with All folders and All workouts, then click the arrow on the workout), or "From scratch" to build a new one. Days are relative, so Day 1 becomes whatever start date you choose when you assign the plan. You can put more than one item on a day.
Step 4: Adjust Days and Weeks
Three menus let you rearrange the plan without rebuilding it:
Workout menu: click a workout in the grid for Edit, Invisible to athlete, Copy, and Delete. Use Copy to repeat a session on another day, and Invisible to athlete to keep a session hidden until you're ready to reveal it after assigning.
Day menu (the ⋮ next to a day's +): Copy day duplicates everything on that day, and Clear day empties it.
Week menu (the ⋯ next to the week name): Insert week before, Insert week after, and Duplicate week, so a base week can be copied and tweaked instead of rebuilt.
Click "+ Add week" at the bottom of the grid to extend the plan. There's no limit on length; the plan list shows the total as "4 week plan", "12 week plan", and so on.
Step 5: Create the Plan
When the weeks look right, click "Create plan" in the bottom left. The plan appears in your Plans list with your name, its length, and its workout count. To leave without saving, close the modal and confirm "Discard changes".
Save a Plan from an Athlete's Calendar
If you've already built a good block on an athlete's calendar, you don't need to rebuild it. Go to the athlete's Calendar and click "Save a plan" in the toolbar at the top right. The Select dates from athlete's calendar to create plan popover opens.
Pick a Starting date and Ending date. The counters below update to show how many workouts and how many days and weeks you've selected, for example 30 workouts and 24 days · 4 weeks. Click "Continue".
The Creating new plan modal opens on the Plans tab with those weeks already filled in. Give it a Plan title, adjust any workouts (edit, copy, delete, or add more, exactly as in Steps 3 and 4), and click "Create plan". The athlete's calendar is untouched; the plan is a copy in your Library.
Edit, Duplicate, or Delete a Plan
Click the ⋯ on a plan's row in the Plans list. The menu offers:
Edit plan: reopens the builder. Make your changes and click "Update plan". If athletes are already on this plan, EndoGusto then asks whether to sync the changes to their calendars; see How to Assign, Update, and Remove a Training Plan for Athletes.
Duplicate plan: creates a copy to build a variation from, leaving the original intact.
Move to folder: files the plan in one of your plan folders. Plans have their own folders on the Plans tab, created with "+ Create new" → Folder → Training plan; see How to Create a Library Folder.
Assign to athletes and Remove from athletes: covered in the assignment article linked above.
Delete from library: removes the plan. If athletes are assigned, you're asked whether to leave their upcoming sessions on their calendars or remove them; leaving them is preselected.
Tips for Coaches
Build the block once on a real athlete, then save it. Planning on a calendar, where you can see the week shape and the load, is often faster than planning in the grid. Save a plan turns that work into a template in seconds.
Keep Day 1 meaningful. Day 1 lands on the start date you choose at assignment, so if your plans always start on a Monday, build them that way and assign on Mondays.
Use Private notes for the intent. A line like "Base block, 3:1 rhythm, add hills from week 3" reminds you what the plan is for when you come back to it months later.
Hide sessions you may swap. Mark provisional sessions Invisible to athlete inside the plan; they stay hidden after assignment until you reveal them on the calendar.
Save the workouts too. Plans reference workouts from your Library, so keep individual sessions tidy and well named; see How to Create, Duplicate, and Delete Workouts in the Library. For scheduling a single session rather than a block, see How to Create and Assign Workouts from the Calendar.
