How to Assign, Update, and Remove a Training Plan for Athletes

Learn how to assign a training plan to athletes in EndoGusto with a start date, sync plan edits to their calendars, and remove a plan when needed.

Written by EndoGusto Support

Once a training plan is in your Library, you can put it on any athlete's calendar in a few clicks, choosing the start date per athlete. If you improve the plan later, you decide which assigned athletes receive the update, and you can take a plan off an athlete's calendar whenever their situation changes.

This guide walks you through assigning a plan, syncing edits to assigned athletes, and removing a plan.

Assign a Plan to Athletes

Step 1: Open the Assign Dialog

Go to Library, click the Plans tab, and click the ⋯ on the plan you want to assign. Choose Assign to athletes. The Select athlete(s) and starting dates dialog opens.

Step 2: Select the Athletes

Tick the athletes on the left, or use Search groups or athletes... to find them. Each one you tick appears under Selected athletes on the right with its own Starting date field.

Step 3: Set the Starting Dates and Assign

Pick a date for each athlete from the calendar picker, or set one date for everyone with Set start date for selected. Day 1 of the plan lands on that date and the rest follows in order, so a Monday start keeps a Monday-based plan aligned. When every athlete has a date, click "Assign".

The plan's sessions appear on each athlete's calendar from their start date, adjusted to that athlete's own training zones, and the plan row in your Library shows how many athletes are on it.

Update a Plan and Sync the Changes

Step 4: Edit the Plan

In the Plans list, click the plan's ⋯ and choose Edit plan. Make your changes in the builder (edit, copy, or delete workouts, add weeks) and click "Update plan".

Step 5: Choose Who Gets the Update

If athletes are assigned to the plan, the Sync updated plan dialog opens, listing each of them with their start date. Tick the athletes whose calendars should change, or Select all, and click "Sync". Athletes you leave unticked keep the version they were assigned.

Syncing updates each athlete's workouts from today onwards. Sessions already in the past stay as they were, so completed work and its data are never rewritten.

Remove a Plan from an Athlete

Step 6: Open Assigned Athletes and Remove

Click the plan's ⋯ and choose Remove from athletes. The Assigned athletes dialog lists everyone on the plan with their start date. Click "Remove plan" next to the athlete, then confirm with "Yes, remove".

All of that plan's workouts from today until the end of the plan are removed from the athlete's calendar. Past sessions stay. If nobody is on the plan yet, the dialog says so and offers "Assign to new athletes".

What Your Athletes See

Assigned sessions look like any other workouts on the athlete's calendar and in the app, with the plan's zone targets converted to their own zones. Athletes aren't told which library plan a session came from. Sessions you marked Invisible to athlete inside the plan stay hidden until you reveal them, and a scheduled release window on the athlete's calendar applies to plan sessions like any others; see How to Use Scheduled Release.

Tips for Coaches

  • Assign in batches with one start date. Use Set start date for selected when a squad starts a block together, then adjust the one or two athletes who start later.

  • Sync deliberately. After editing a plan, tick only the athletes who should get the new version. An athlete mid-block on a tweaked plan may be better left on the original.

  • Remember sync is forward-only. Changes apply from today, so if you fix week 2 after an athlete has finished it, nothing changes for them; adjust their calendar directly instead.

  • Remove, then reassign, to restart a block. If an athlete's timeline shifts, removing the plan and assigning it again with a new start date is cleaner than moving sessions one by one.

  • Let the Arc set the targets, the plan fill them. A training plan supplies the sessions; the Training Arc panel shows whether those sessions hit the weekly volume you intended. See How to Create a Training Arc. For building the plan itself, see How to Create a Training Plan in EndoGusto.
