Life happens. When you can't train because of an injury, travel, work, or even a heatwave, you can mark the day as unavailable directly on your EndoGusto calendar. You choose a reason, optionally add a message, and your coach sees at a glance why that day is off the table, so they can adjust your plan instead of wondering what happened. You can mark past days too, so an illness you didn't log at the time still ends up on record.
This guide walks you through marking a day as unavailable, what your coach sees, how to remove an unavailability if plans change, and how coaches can add one for you.
Mark a Day as Unavailable
Step 1: Open the Day Options Menu
Go to your Calendar and find the day you want to mark. Click the three-dot menu in the top right corner of that day. A small menu opens with two options: "Mark unavailable" and "Mark menstruation".
Step 2: Select a Reason
Click "Mark unavailable". The Mark as not available window opens with the Date from field prefilled with the day you selected.
Open the Reason dropdown (required) and pick the option that best describes your situation: Injury, Illness, Personal reasons, Rest and recovery, Travel, Work or study commitments, Weather conditions, Facility or equipment unavailable, or Other.
If you're unavailable for more than one day, click "Add more days" to include additional dates in the same entry.
Step 3: Add a Message and Save
After you select a reason, an Additional message field appears. Use it to give your coach more context, for example how long you expect to be out. This field is optional.
When you're done, click "Save".
What Happens After You Save
The day now shows a red Not available banner at the top, followed by a short version of your reason, for example "Not available - weather". Any workouts already scheduled or completed on that day stay on the calendar below the banner; marking a day as unavailable does not delete them.
What Your Coach Sees
Your coach sees the same Not available banner and reason on your calendar day in their coaching view, along with any additional message you added. This lets them reschedule, swap, or remove the affected workouts without needing to message you first.
Remove an Unavailability
If your plans change, click the Not available banner on the marked day. The unavailability opens, and from there you can edit the details or remove it entirely. Once removed, the banner disappears and the day returns to normal. You can only edit or remove entries you created yourself.
Tips for Athletes
Mark it as soon as you know. The earlier your coach sees the unavailability, the more time they have to restructure your week around it.
Log it afterwards if you forgot. Past days can be marked unavailable too, so an injury or illness still gets recorded even if you didn't open the app that day.
Use the message field for anything time-sensitive. A reason like "Injury" tells your coach what happened; a short message like "Ankle sprain, seeing physio Thursday" tells them how to plan.
Cover the whole block with "Add more days". If you're traveling for a week, add all the dates in one entry instead of marking each day separately.
Your workouts aren't lost. Marking a day unavailable flags it for your coach but leaves the scheduled sessions in place. If you'd rather shift a session yourself, see How Athletes Can Change or Reschedule a Workout.
For Coaches
You can add an unavailability entry on any athlete's calendar yourself, on any date past or future, which is useful for recording an injury an athlete told you about in person. Entries you add are marked as coach-added, and the note stays visible to both of you. Edits and deletions stay with whoever created the entry: you can't change an athlete's entry, and they can't change yours. An unavailable day doesn't block you from scheduling on it; see How to Create and Assign Workouts from the Calendar.
