When your athlete records a session on their device, EndoGusto automatically links it to the workout you planned for that day whenever the two are close enough in duration, distance, and sport. Matching connects the real recorded data to the plan, so the workout shows as Completed and you can compare planned targets against what your athlete actually did, side by side. When auto-matching doesn't catch a session, for example when an athlete trains on a different day than planned or logs a session without a connected tracker, you can match it by hand in a few clicks, and unmatch it just as easily.
This guide walks you through matching an activity to a planned workout and unmatching it when you need to.
Match an Activity to a Planned Workout
Step 1: Open the Planned Workout
Go to your Calendar and click the workout you want to match. It shows as Planned or, if the date has passed, Missed. The status appears near the top of the card, above the planned data.
Step 2: Open the Options Menu
Click the ⋯ menu next to the status. A menu opens with Mark as done, Mark as missed, and Match workout.
Step 3: Select the Activity to Match
Hover over Match workout to expand the submenu. EndoGusto lists your athlete's recorded activities that can be matched to this workout, each with its duration and distance. Click the activity you want to link to the plan.
What Happens After You Match an Activity
Once you match the activity, the workout status changes to Completed. The card shows two columns: Planned targets on the left and the Completed data from the recorded activity on the right, including duration, distance, and per-step values. Your athlete's RPE and How I felt ratings and any comments appear on the same card once they add them; see How to Give Workout Feedback.
The match survives small edits. If you adjust a note, the instructions, or a detail on a matched workout afterward, EndoGusto keeps the match as long as the workout still fits the activity. Only a change big enough to make the plan no longer match the recording breaks the link, and in that case the activity is released so it can be matched elsewhere and still counts in training stats.
Unmatch an Activity from a Workout
Step 4: Open the Options Menu and Unmatch
If you matched the wrong activity or need to reverse the link, open the completed workout from your Calendar and click the ⋯ menu next to the Completed status. Click Unmatch workout. The activity is unlinked and stays on the calendar as its own entry, and the workout returns to Planned (or Missed if the date has passed) so you can match a different activity if needed.
Tips for Coaches
Match when auto-sync doesn't catch it. If an athlete's activity doesn't link to the plan automatically, use Match workout to pair them manually so the planned vs. completed comparison stays accurate. If activities aren't arriving at all, start with Workouts Not Syncing to EndoGusto: Troubleshooting Guide.
Check the duration and distance before matching. The submenu shows each activity's time and distance. Use those to confirm you're linking the right session, especially on days with more than one recorded activity.
Move or duplicate a workout onto a past date to backfill. When you move or duplicate a workout onto a date that already has a recorded activity, EndoGusto checks for a match and applies it automatically, which is the quickest way to tidy up a plan after the fact. See How to Create and Assign Workouts from the Calendar.
Unmatch to fix mistakes, not to delete. Unmatch workout only breaks the link between the plan and the activity. The recorded activity stays on the calendar and the planned workout returns to its unmatched state.
Review the side-by-side data after matching. The planned vs. completed view is where you see whether your athlete hit the targets. Use it to decide what to adjust in next week's plan.
For Athletes
You don't need to match anything yourself. Sessions from your connected device link to your planned workouts automatically, and your coach can match one by hand if it didn't. If a completed session shows as Missed, let your coach know which activity it was.
