How to Export a Training Plan to PDF in EndoGusto

Learn how to export a training plan to PDF from the EndoGusto calendar, pick a date range, and choose between a detailed and a compact layout.

Written by EndoGusto Support

You can export any stretch of an athlete's calendar as a PDF training plan directly from EndoGusto. Pick the dates, choose how much detail to include, and download a clean A4 document with every session grouped by week. It's useful for athletes who want a printed plan on the fridge, for training camps with no signal, or for sharing a block with a physio or club.

This guide walks you through exporting a training plan to PDF and choosing between the two layouts.

Export a Training Plan to PDF

Step 1: Open the Athlete's Calendar and Click Export PDF

Go to Calendar and select the athlete whose plan you want to export. In the toolbar at the top right of the calendar, click "Export PDF". The Export training plan to PDF popover opens.

Step 2: Set the Date Range

The Starting date and Ending date default to the first and last day of the month you're viewing. Click either field to open a calendar picker and choose any date. You can export a single week, a whole training block, or any range you like.

As you change the dates, the two counters below the fields update to show how many workouts and how many days and weeks the export will cover, for example 27 workouts and 22 days · 4 weeks. Use them as a quick check that you've captured the right block before exporting.

Step 3: Choose the Detail Level

Under Detail level, select one of the two layouts:

  • Detailed (default): every workout is expanded with all its steps, including repeats, durations or distances, zones and target ranges, equipment, and the stress score of each step.

  • Compact: one line per workout showing the name, planned duration, distance, and total stress. Weeks are listed one after another, so a month usually fits on a page or two.

See the section below for what each layout looks like.

Step 4: Export and Download the PDF

Click "Export PDF". The button shows a spinner while the file is generated, then the PDF downloads through your browser. The file is named after the athlete and the date range, for example training-plan-helen-smith-2026-09-01-2026-09-22.pdf.

To close the popover without exporting, click "Discard".

What the PDF Contains

Both layouts share the same structure. The header shows the EndoGusto logo, the athlete's name, the date range, and the total number of sessions and weeks. Sessions are grouped under week headings (Week 1 · Sep 1 – 7), each with its session count and weekly training stress. Every workout line shows the sport icon, the workout name, planned duration, distance (and pool length for swims), and the training stress score. The footer reads "Generated by EndoGusto · endogusto.com" with page numbers.

Detailed adds the full step list under each workout: warm up, work, rest and cool down steps, repeat blocks with their counts, the zone method and target range for each step (for example CSS Zones · Zone 2 · 02:15 - 02:01 /100m or Fixed values · 210 - 220 W), equipment or stroke tags, and the stress contribution of each step. A three-week block runs to several pages.

Compact keeps only the workout lines, so the same block fits on one or two pages. It's the better choice for a print-out the athlete will glance at, while Detailed works as a standalone session sheet when they won't have the app open.

For Athletes

Athletes can export their own training plan the same way. Open your Calendar, click "Export PDF", set the dates and detail level, and download the file. Only sessions your coach has made visible to you are included. If you're new to the app, start with Onboarding as an Athlete on EndoGusto.

Tips for Coaches

  • Export a block, not a month. Set the dates to match your training block (a 4-week build, a taper) rather than the calendar month, so the weekly stress totals line up with how you planned it.

  • Use Compact for the overview, Detailed for the sessions. Send both if an athlete is heading somewhere with no signal: Compact for the week at a glance, Detailed for what to do in each session.

  • Check the counters before you export. If the workout count looks low, the range probably starts or ends on the wrong week. Fix the dates before generating the file.

  • Finish the plan first. The PDF is a snapshot. Changes you make after exporting won't appear in the file, so assign and reorder everything before you export. See How to Create and Assign Workouts from the Calendar.

  • Step notes stay in the app. The PDF lists steps, zones, and equipment but not the free-text notes you attach to steps, so keep cues the athlete needs on paper in the workout name or brief them separately. See How to Add Step Notes to Workouts.
