Deleting a workout by accident happens. What you can do about it depends on which kind of workout it was. A planned workout is one your coach assigned that you haven't done yet. A completed workout is an activity you recorded on your watch or app and that synced to EndoGusto.
This guide explains what happens in each case and the steps to get the workout back.
Who Can Build and Assign Workouts
In EndoGusto, coaches build workouts in the Library and assign them to athletes' calendars. Athletes see their planned workouts on the Calendar, complete them, and review the results. Athletes can't create or rebuild workouts themselves, so if something is missing from your plan, the fix always goes through your coach.
If You Deleted a Planned Workout
A planned workout only exists in the coach's plan. When it's deleted from the calendar, the schedule loses that session, but the coach still has the workout in their Library.
Step 1: Tell your coach which workout is missing
Message your coach with the date and the workout name, if you remember it. They can find it in their Library and assign it back to the same day. If you're a coach reading this, open the Calendar, go to the athlete's day, click "Assign workout" and pick the workout from the Library.
That's all. The planned workout appears on the calendar again, ready to be completed.
If You Deleted a Completed Workout
A completed workout is different. When it's deleted from the calendar, the recorded activity is deleted with it, including heart rate, pace, power and the training load it contributed. It can't be restored by your coach or by support, and it can't be re-linked to the plan, because it's no longer in EndoGusto.
The good news is that the original recording still exists where your watch saved it. You can bring it back by uploading the activity file.
Step 1: Download the FIT file from your tracker provider
Open the app or website of the platform your watch syncs to, find the activity, and download it as a FIT file. Where this option lives depends on the provider:
Garmin Connect (web): open the activity, click the gear icon and choose "Export Original".
COROS: open the activity in the COROS app or web and use the export or share option, then choose FIT.
Polar Flow (web): open the activity and use "Export session", then choose FIT.
Suunto app: open the activity, tap the share or export option and choose FIT.
Wahoo: open the workout in the Wahoo app and export as FIT.
Strava (web): open the activity, click the ⋯ menu and choose "Export Original".
EndoGusto accepts FIT files only. If your provider offers several formats, choose FIT.
Step 2: Upload the FIT file to EndoGusto
Log in to EndoGusto on the web and open the Calendar. In the toolbar at the top right, click "Upload FIT file". The Upload FIT files window opens.
Drag your FIT file into the box that says "Drop .fit files here or click to select", or click it to browse for the file. Then click "Upload". You can add several FIT files at once if you need to recover more than one activity. Each one is imported with all the data from the original recording.
Step 3: Check the activity on your calendar
Open the Calendar and go to the day of the workout. The uploaded activity appears as a completed workout. If your coach had a planned workout on that day, EndoGusto matches the two automatically; if not, your coach can match them from the planned workout using the ⋯ menu and "Match workout".
Tips for Athletes
Check before you delete. A completed workout takes its data with it. If you're not sure, leave it and ask your coach.
Keep your watch synced to its own platform. Garmin Connect, COROS, Polar Flow and the others keep a copy of every activity, which is what makes recovery possible.
Several at once is fine. If you deleted more than one workout, download each FIT file and drop them all into the upload window together.
Tell your coach. Even after you upload the file, let your coach know what happened so they can check the session is matched to the plan and the training load looks right.
For Coaches
If an athlete deleted a planned workout, assign it again from your Library. If they deleted a completed one, they need to upload the FIT file themselves from their tracker provider; you can't restore it from your side. Once it's uploaded, check the calendar day and match it to the planned workout if EndoGusto didn't do it automatically.
