How to Connect Your Suunto Watch with EndoGusto

Connect your Suunto watch to EndoGusto to sync activities, import your full history, and get planned workouts on your watch as SuuntoPlus guides.

Written by EndoGusto Support

Connecting your Suunto watch to EndoGusto works in both directions. Every activity you record is imported automatically and your full Suunto history is backfilled, and the workouts your coach plans are sent to the Suunto app as SuuntoPlus guides that you can pin to your watch.

This guide walks you through connecting your Suunto account, turning on workout upload, and getting a planned workout onto your watch.

Connect Your Suunto Account

Step 1: Open Activity trackers

Log in to EndoGusto and click Activity trackers in the left sidebar. Find the Suunto card and click "Connect your Suunto".

Step 2: Log in to Suunto and authorize

You will be redirected to Suunto. Log in with your Suunto account and accept the request to share your data with EndoGusto.

Step 3: Turn on workout upload

Back in EndoGusto, the Suunto card shows that your account is connected. Switch on "Upload assigned workouts to my Suunto". From now on, the workouts your coach assigns are sent to your Suunto app.

Get a Planned Workout on Your Watch

Suunto delivers EndoGusto workouts to the Suunto app as SuuntoPlus guides. Unlike some other brands, a guide is not automatically installed on the watch; you pin the ones you want.

Step 4: Pin the workout to your watch

  1. Open the Suunto app and tap the watch icon in the top left corner.

  2. Tap "My SuuntoPlus guides".

  3. Tap the EndoGusto workout you want on the watch.

  4. Tap "Pin to watch".

The guide is sent to your watch on its next sync with the app. On the watch, start an exercise and select the guide to follow the intervals and targets.

What Happens After Connecting Suunto

Your full history is imported. EndoGusto backfills your complete Suunto activity history when you connect. Large histories take a little while to arrive; activities appear on your calendar as they come in.

New activities sync automatically. Each time your watch syncs with the Suunto app, the activity is sent to EndoGusto and matched to the planned workout for that day.

Planned workouts are kept up to date. With the upload toggle on, EndoGusto re-sends a workout to Suunto whenever your coach assigns, moves, edits or removes it, whenever you move it to another day, whenever a training-plan readjustment changes your upcoming sessions, and whenever a new threshold updates your targets. Each workout is one guide; multisport (brick) sessions are not sent to Suunto.

Suunto plus Strava. If you connect both, EndoGusto keeps the Suunto version of each activity and ignores the Strava copy.

Tips for Athletes

  • Pin the week's guides in one go. Open "My SuuntoPlus guides" on Sunday evening and pin everything for the coming week, so nothing is missing on the day.

  • Unpin old guides. Watch storage for guides is limited; remove completed workouts so new ones always fit.

  • If a guide is missing, check the upload toggle is on in EndoGusto, then sync the Suunto app. Edited workouts replace the previous guide.

For Coaches

Athletes connect Suunto themselves. Their activities arrive automatically, and your planned workouts are pushed as guides, but the athlete must pin each guide to the watch in the Suunto app. Worth mentioning when you onboard a Suunto user, as it is the most common "my workout isn't on my watch" question.
