How to Add Your Own Exercises to the Strength Library

Learn how to add your own exercises to the EndoGusto strength library, from mobility drills to rehab moves, and use them in any strength workout.

Written by EndoGusto Support

The EndoGusto strength library covers the classic strength exercises, but your programming may include more: mobility drills, rehab moves, pilates-style work, or breathing techniques. You can now add your own exercises to the strength library and use them in strength workouts exactly like the default ones. Every coach in your business can use the exercises you create.

This guide walks you through adding your own exercises, using them in a workout, and keeping them up to date.

Add an Exercise from the Library

Step 1: Open the Exercises Tab

Click Library in the top navigation bar and open the Exercises tab. It lists the exercises your business has added, with their category and body part.

Click "+ Create new" in the top right corner and choose Exercise.

Step 2: Fill In the Exercise Details

The New exercise form opens. Two fields are required:

  • Name: what you and your athletes will see in the workout.

  • Category: choose from the list, for example Strength or Rehabilitation.

The rest are optional, but the more you fill in, the easier the exercise is to find and follow:

  • Body part, Target muscle, Equipment, and Difficulty: choose from the lists. Body part and equipment drive the filters in the exercise picker.

  • Description: a short summary of the exercise.

  • Instructions (one step per line): how to perform it, one step on each line.

  • Video link: a link to a video showing the movement. It opens outside EndoGusto.

Click "Save exercise". The exercise appears in your Exercises tab and in the exercise picker for every coach in your business.

Add an Exercise While Building a Workout

You can also create an exercise without leaving the strength workout you're building. In the Select exercises to add to workout window, click "+ New exercise" next to the search field. The same New exercise form opens; save it, and the exercise is ready to add to your workout.

Use Your Exercises in Strength Workouts

Your exercises show up in the Select exercises to add to workout window alongside the default ones. Search by name, or filter with All muscle groups and All equipment. They sit in the body-part groups you chose; exercises without a body part appear in an Unclassified group at the bottom.

Check the exercises you want and click "Add selected exercises". For the full workout flow, see How to Create Strength Workouts with EndoGusto.

Edit or Archive an Exercise

In the Library, open the Exercises tab and click the ⋯ next to an exercise to edit or archive it.

  • Edit: changes apply to new workouts. Workouts you already saved with the exercise keep its old name and details until you save them again.

  • Archive: hides the exercise from the picker. Workouts, templates, and plans that already use it keep working, and you can still duplicate and schedule them.

What Your Athletes See

Your athletes see your exercises inside their strength workouts just like the default ones: the name, your instructions, and the video link if you added one. The name and instructions appear exactly as you typed them, so write them in the language your athletes use.

Tips for Coaches

  • Always add a body part. It places the exercise in the right group in the picker and makes it easy to find with the All muscle groups filter.

  • Write instructions one step per line. Short, numbered-style steps are easier to follow mid-session than a paragraph.

  • Link a video for anything unusual. A 30-second demo removes guesswork for movements your athletes haven't done before. Use a link that won't change, since workouts keep the link they were saved with.

  • Build a shared bank with your team. Every coach in your business can use, edit, and archive the exercises, so agree on names to avoid duplicates. If a colleague just added one, refresh the page to see it.
