Connecting your Garmin watch to EndoGusto turns it into a two-way link with your training calendar. Every activity you record is imported automatically; up to five years of past activities are backfilled so your coach can see your history, and the workouts your coach plans for you are sent to your watch so you can follow them step by step.
This guide walks you through connecting your Garmin account, turning on workout upload, and understanding what syncs and when.
Connect Your Garmin Account
Step 1: Open Activity trackers
Log in to EndoGusto and click Activity trackers in the left sidebar. You will see the list of supported trackers: Garmin, Strava, Polar, Suunto, COROS, Wahoo and ROUVY.
Click "Connect your Garmin".
Step 2: Log in to Garmin and grant permissions
You will be redirected to Garmin Connect. Log in with your Garmin account and, on the permissions screen, make sure all three options are enabled:
Activities, so new workouts you record are sent to EndoGusto
Historical Data, so your past activities can be imported
Training, so EndoGusto can send planned workouts to your watch
Click "Agree" to finish. If you skip any of these, the connection will still be created, but that part of the sync will not work. You can reconnect later to fix it.
Step 3: Turn on workout upload
Back in EndoGusto, the Garmin card now shows "Your Garmin is connected." Switch on the toggle "Upload assigned workouts to my Garmin".
With the toggle on, the workouts your coach assigns will appear in your Garmin Connect calendar and, after your watch's next sync, on the watch itself. Leave it off if you only want EndoGusto to receive your activities.
Step 4: Check your first workout on the watch
Open the Garmin Connect app and go to the calendar. Any planned workout on your EndoGusto calendar from today onward will be listed there. Sync your watch with the app as you normally do, and the workout will be available under Training > Workouts on the watch on its scheduled day.
What Happens After Connecting Garmin
Your history is imported. EndoGusto backfills up to five years of past Garmin activities. Garmin delivers this in 30-day batches, so it can take some time for a long history to arrive. You do not need to keep the page open; the activities appear on your calendar as they come in.
New activities sync automatically. Each time your watch syncs with Garmin Connect, the activity is sent to EndoGusto and matched to the planned workout for that day. If EndoGusto cannot tell which workout an activity belongs to, you or your coach can match it manually (see How to Match an Activity to a Workout).
Planned workouts are kept up to date. With "Upload assigned workouts to my Garmin" on, EndoGusto re-sends a workout to Garmin whenever:
your coach assigns a new workout
your coach or you move a workout to a different day
your coach edits or removes a workout
a manual or automatic training-plan readjustment changes your upcoming sessions
a new threshold is detected for you, which updates the targets in your workouts
Garmin plus Strava. If you connect both Garmin and Strava, EndoGusto keeps the Garmin version of each activity and ignores the Strava copy, so you will not see duplicates.
Tips for Athletes
Sync your watch before you check EndoGusto. An activity only reaches EndoGusto after the watch has synced with Garmin Connect. If a workout is missing, open the Garmin Connect app first.
Reconnect if you changed Garmin passwords or permissions. Click "Configure" under the Garmin card, or disconnect and connect again, and re-accept all three permissions.
Give backfill time. A five-year history arrives in batches. If older activities have not appeared after a day, contact support and we will check the import.
Keep the workout upload toggle on. Structured workouts on the watch guide you through every interval with the right targets, and your coach sees exactly how you executed them.
For Coaches
Athletes connect their own Garmin account; you cannot connect it on their behalf. Once an athlete is connected, their activities appear on your calendar view automatically, and every workout you plan (or move, edit, or readjust) is pushed to their watch without any action from you.
If an athlete reports that workouts are not reaching their watch or activities are not appearing in EndoGusto, send them the Workouts Not Syncing to EndoGusto troubleshooting guide first; the most common cause is a missing Garmin permission.
